I am a born and raised Michigander! I graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in English (focus on creative writing), and less than a year later, I found doula work! I took a DONA approved interactive workshop and received my training certificates.
After the training, I focused on attending births, furthering my education through reading, and networking with other birth doulas. About four months later, I became a Certified Birth Doula through Lifespan Doulas, created and owned by Patty Brennan.
In September of 2022, I began apprenticing as a student midwife, and much of my time is invested in that. I love it. I'm working on my degree at GoMidwife and completed the Modules of Midwifery (a survey course) with them in November of 2021.
I am a Catholic doula and am particularly excited to work with expectant Christian mothers and families! We can discuss if you would like to incorporate Christian affirmations or prayer into your labor experience.
One of the ways I support my clients is by listening and affirming, and this is a trait that has its roots in one of my favorite activities—spending time with my husband, family, or friends and having heartfelt conversations over hot cups of tea. My tendency to connect, empathize, and enjoy company is a mainstay of my doula practice.
I hope to work with you prenatally and throughout your birth process. I want to assist you during the precious and challenging moments of the birthing process in the ways you need most.
My overall goal is to support and care for mamas as their birth doula. I would love to be yours!
